Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/30 17:46:26 (permalink) I'd try connecting ability through fusebox or even cigarette lighter outset, if not this: https://youtu.be/Yp6zu0cFxn4 Richard Chappelle Quote Reply #3 |
Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/thirty 17:58:05 (permalink) Marker, Since you've actually removed the bombardment from the machine I'm non sure that using the slave battery method will work, only information technology'south worth trying before using the emergency pull-cable method. I think if you lot apply some steering lock you should be able to remove the lower part of the cycle arch liner to gain access to the cable. Be careful though because it may be very stiff if it'southward not been used for 17-years.! Jeff 987.two Cayman Southward Quote Answer #4 |
Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/30 eighteen:11:48 (permalink) Hi thank you for quick response. Re: Opening bonnet assistance required 2020/05/30 eighteen:13:35 (permalink) On your 987 I think it's accessed via the front left wheel curvation. Jeff Edit: Sorry, I call back yours is a 986 and confusingly the PET Illustration 803-00 shows the emergency cablevision on the RHS: https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/classic/genuineparts/originalpartscatalogue/ However, that may be for a LHD car, then your guess is good every bit mine..! mail service edited by Motorhead - 2020/05/30 18:25:32 987.ii Cayman S Quote Reply #vi |
Re: Opening bonnet assist required 2020/05/30 18:fifteen:12 (permalink) Hi its actually a 986...even so the aforementioned side ? Thanks over again Quote Answer #7 |
Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/30 18:31:25 (permalink) Sad Mark, our posts crossed over. My judge would be the RHS every bit in the PET (accept a good look through the Illustrations* to see if you tin can decide if they're for a LHD vehicle). I wouldn't call up that it would exist different for LHD and RHD ... but you never know! Jeff * I've at present looked more critically through the illustrations and it seems that they're for a LHD vehicle (e.g. Analogy 809-00 showing the dashboard and support construction). post edited by Motorhead - 2020/05/30 19:01:18 987.ii Cayman S Quote Reply #8 |
Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/thirty 19:35:58 (permalink) Hello, Just something to try. I had exactly the same event, couldn't find the release pull, got a jump lead and a battery charger onto the fuse pull out and notwithstanding non enough ability for the floor mounted bonnet release to work. I tried the key button release and it worked. Not sure why. Its a 987 so non sure if 986 keys accept the Frunk and Boot chapeau release on in that location every bit well as in the automobile. Practiced luck Quote Reply #9 |
Re: Opening bonnet assistance required 2020/05/30 20:41:49 (permalink) Hi dave, did you really take the battery disconnected and sorry you exist so dim but when you say primal button release was it only a case of using fob button? Thanks marker Quote Reply #ten |
Re: Opening bonnet aid required 2020/05/thirty 22:fifteen:25 (permalink) My apologies Mark, I shoud have read the post more thoroughly, I hadnt realised the battery was not on the auto. I think you can assume the electrical circuit is broken if the bombardment is not at that place to connect the circuit. I did spend ages trying to discover the cable pull on the drivers side as detailed in all the online assist I could observe. Eventually found it in the near side / passenger front end bike well behind the bike curvation liner. Obviously its the drivers side for American and High german drivers. The bonnet was open up by that fourth dimension. Best of luck Quote Reply #11 |
Re: Opening bonnet help required 2020/05/31 17:24:56 (permalink) I take sent you a PM with a solution. I'thou not sure other 986 owners would appreciate the solution on here every bit it gives very easy access to the front storage. Quote Respond #12 |

Re: Opening bonnet assist required 2020/06/01 xvi:40:ten (permalink) All sorted....took a charged donor bombardment to work with me ...connected the jump leads to the fuse and door latch...set alarm off..would non work with floor switch simply opened straight upwards with fob...so thankfully it will work still with no bombardment fitted for future reference for everyone. Thank you again for all your help, marking Quote Reply #fifteen |
